The Woods: An Urban Legend
Once upon a time a boy named Charles was walking home from school by himself and decided to cut through the woods to get home faster. Now it was rumored in these woods lurked an evil and when the moon was full the woods held an eerie glow. But Charles never listened to such tales, plus he was really hungry and wanted to get home to his mother’s treats so he cut through the woods, never to leave again.
At night when the moon is full, the townspeople claim they can see Charles walking in the woods calling for his mommy. His clothes now ragged and torn, his body skin and bones with a sickly gray color but his eyes. Now his eyes are the scary part for where his eyes were suppose to be there was nothing, but hollow sockets.
They say an old blind-man found Charles, cut out and stole his eyes so the old man could see again. Leaving Charles to wander the woods forever in search of his eyes, because he couldn’t find his way home without them. The old man was once like Charles, and someday Charles will cut out the eyes of the next boy who dares venture into the woods so he can leave and return home.
